you are nine weeks old!
and smiley and sweet. you went to the doctor today, and he said that your lungs sound fine. this was a big relief!! thank God you aren't getting pneumonia, like your mom got at your age.
you hate when we put the saline drops in your nose and suck out the snot with the nose bulb, but it seems to help.
today you weigh 11lbs. 4oz. you are 23 inches long, and your head is 15.25 inches around. you've only gained 4 oz. in the past two weeks, because you've felt so crummy and thrown up your lunch a few times. you also got three shots today. yuck! we can't wait until you're 100% again.
here are two pictures of what you look like as a nine week old baby girl. gorgeous!

you love your daddy
Happy Two Months Birthday!
yesterday you turned two months old. i'm not sure how "happy" it actually was for you. your cold was the worst that day, but at least you had lots of people to hold and love you. here is a picture of you looking mildly pitiful. that's your oldest cousin, rachel, holding you. she loves you a whole whole whole bunch, and so do all the others. we went to bartlesville to celebrate mommy and grandma's birthday. it was a couple weeks late because of all the snow and ice they've been getting.
this morning you look like you feel lots better than yesterday, but we stayed home from church anyway so you can rest and get better. you have been smiling and being sweet even while you're coughing. we're glad you have your 2 month checkup scheduled for tomorrow, so we can see what the doctor says about you.

you are eight weeks old!
your personality is coming out more every week.
the other evening when you were pretty upset, i carried you around to show you things and take your mind off your problems. you saw a picture of sam on the refrigerator and smiled at it and said "goo!" you love it when your brother talks to you and plays with you, and you save most of your biggest smiles for him.
you like to look at books, especially dr. seuss. today we read about the sneetches. you let us know when enough is enough, though, and you just want things to be calm and quiet. we don't have to wonder too much how you feel about things.
i spent this morning putting away most of your 0-3 month clothes. hopefully it will warm up some before you grow out of the 3-6 ones, because there are a lot of cute summery outfits in there!

we're figuring out who you look like.
you're clean!
since your cord fell off, you finally got to take your first bath last week. you liked it to begin with, but you got tired of it pretty quickly. even though we have a space heater that made things a little better, we're all looking forward to warmer weather, so it's not so cold in the house and outside!
you had some sniffles this week, and we took you to the doctor on tuesday. he said your chest sounded fine, but you had a little bit of a cold. you still have lots of boogers, but it seems like you're much better now. and you weighed 11 pounds already!

you are seven weeks old!
we can't believe how time is flying and how big you're getting!
lots of your 0-3month clothes are too little on you now, especially the pjs. thankfully, your friend ivy is letting you borrow some of the ones that are too little for her!
here is a picture of what you look like as a seven week old, in your big girl 3-6month jammies! your big brother sam was exactly your age when he had to start wearing 3-6 jammies too.
what a pretty smile!

you're growing!
lately you've been wanting to play more! it's neat to see how you get interested in things and people all around you now. i think you tried to grab mr. potatohead when you were on the floor with him yesterday.
you coo to get our attention if you want to talk, which is more and more all the time.
we can't wait to see what you do next!

you are six weeks old!
and beautiful. here is a picture of what you look like as a six-week-old little girl!
your umbilical cord stump finally fell off tonight, too! that's a good 6 week birthday present.
you started smiling at us this past week, and that is very exciting! here is a picture of you smiling at your daddy and talking to him. you are a big fan of his silly stories, just like your big brother.
you also earned your first real nickname this week. we call you betty sometimes when you cry. angry betty!

you had your first sleepover!
it only lasted about 10 minutes, but it sure was cute.
today we went to visit your friend Abby. she was born 3.5 weeks after you, and i know you girls are going to have tons of fun together. your moms were friends all the way back to junior high, and it's pretty exciting for us to have little girls at the same time! and pretty soon there will be a third, when Bella is born in february! we hope you all won't hate wearing matching clothes.
hooray for girls!

you're five weeks old!
you are getting bigger and more spunky every day. lots of people have said in the past week that you seem bigger, so you must have hit a growth spurt.
also, we think you are smiling! usually it's when your big brother is talking to you. here is a picture of what you look like as a five week old. this is your almost smiling face! it's in the eyes.
