you are 26 weeks old!

you had a big week last week!

we went to indiana, which brings your state total to 5 (arkansas, oklahoma, missouri, illinois, indiana). we weren't expecting the car ride to be very fun for you, but you really didn't cry as much as we thought you would.

everyone who sees you says how laid back and happy you are. it is funny to remember that you used to not be very happy or laid back at all. we love the change! you are our sweet girl, and we're very proud of you and love you very much!

here's a picture of you lunging for the camera.

Happy 6 Months Birthday!

wow! you are a half. congratulations! it is hard to believe you're already six months old, but on the other hand, it's hard to remember you not being here.

as your past few posts have said, you are getting to be such a big girl! people are starting to say you look a lot like sam. i think your arms look like series of marshmallows. very cute!

here are some pictures we took today. you can almost sit up by yourself, and i think you find it a little bewildering.

you are 25 weeks old!

this past week it seems like you grew so much!

you are starting to have favorites. you have a favorite toy, a soft little turtle (i think?) with lots of knobby things on his back. sam had one just like it. you also have a favorite blanket. it's a thick pink one with kind of a furry side, and a velvety side. your great great aunt helen (nany's sister-in-law) and her daughter, mary helen, picked it out for you. you like to feel it while you're going to sleep.

speaking of sleep, you've been taking naps in your crib. you really like the aquarium crib toy that trisha p. bought you, way back before you were born. it's our fault you weren't in your crib before now, but i think you really like it in there, and soon you'll be sleeping there at night too.

you rolled over for the first time, and now you're rolling like crazy!

you love to play with your feet now and bite and suck on your toes. yum yum!

the other day, i was tickling you, and when you saw my hand coming down, you would get all excited. a couple times you kind of tickled your belly yourself in anticipation, and once i think you tried to tickle me.

you are now officially in your very very grabby stage. anything near you, you grab at and either chew on or knock to the floor. i remember this stage with sam, and it involved spilling a whole glass of ice tea at a restaurant on at least one occasion. let's hope mom and dad wised up.

anyhow, it's just like all of a sudden, you have transformed into this very active baby. it's fun to see all the new things you think of and do!

the above is a picture of you in your traveling clothes, since we're leaving for indiana this morning. and here's a picture of you with your shirt half on. i don't know what it is, but i always think this looks funny and cute. like puppy dog ears or something. i'm sure you'll thank me for it later!

don't chew on your friends!

you continue to have fun with your pal bella. she is totally okay with you chewing on her hands, knees, arms, etc., but i don't think it's a very good idea!

you finally rolled over for the first time yesterday, and we got it on film! yay, everyone. can't wait to see what you do next.

you are some silly girls!

your friend bella is coming to hang out with you every day this week. aren't you lucky! she is 2.5 months old now, so when you are six months old, she will be half your age. and then after a couple years, 3 months will seem like nothing.

even though you see each other a lot, it's the first time you've really gotten to just hang out together for any length of time.

i think you're wearing each other out, as you're both taking naps right now.

here are some pictures of you two being very silly together. if i know your two mothers (and i do), there's much much more silliness and more giggling fits ahead.

you are 24 weeks old!

this week has been interesting.

you have had a bit of a weird sleep routine. you used to sleep kind of late in the morning, but as of last week, you want to wake up at 7, 6, or even 5am. you will eat, stay awake for an hour or two, and then sleep again for about three hours. it has taken a while to get used to this new schedule. the past couple of days you've been sleeping longer stretches at night, so that is definitely a plus.

you are now also a biter, with your two teeth. you'll chew on sam's toys, your toys, fingers, a styrofoam plate, just about anything you can get in your mouth. we're hoping this is a phase. let's just say feeding you has been a little tricky.

here's a picture of you looking like a pretty flower, and smiling in your tie dye shirt that amber and britney and i made you, and also a close-up of your weapons!

you are 23 weeks old!

last week was a big week! you got your first tooth early in the week and also your second tooth (sunday). you weren't really that cranky, for teething, so it kind of surprised us to feel those little tiny new chompers poking through.

you went to rachel's 10th birthday party as well and had a good time with all your cousins.

i think maybe your hair is mostly done falling out, and it's actually getting a lot longer on the top.

you are in 6-9 or 6-12 month clothes pretty much exclusively, but your feet are still pretty little (size one or two). it's been pretty hot lately, so we've had fun putting you in all those new little cute summer dresses.

here's a picture of you smiling really really big for the camera. you do that pretty much every time you see a camera, and every time someone looks at and talks to you. what a sweet, smiley baby!

all the chewing paid off!

today you got your first tooth! it's the bottom left, and it's barely barely barely coming through. i think it's still kinda painful, as you are pretty cranky this morning. i'm glad that mild warmth that i've been feeling and been in denial about was a teething fever, and not the flu, like your mom and dad had last week.

congratulations!
