this week you had a lot of "firsts."

for the first time, you:

celebrated christmas. we went to bartlesville, to grandma and pappy and nany's house. so it was also the first time you traveled to another state (oklahoma).

met your cousins, Rachel, Jacob, Rebecca, Daniel, and Isaac. they loved meeting you and holding you.

you're three weeks old!

here are some pictures of what you look like, now that you are three weeks old.
you weren't really all that happy to get your picture taken, but you still managed to be cute. i hope you get used to getting your picture taken a whole lot, because you're going to!

today you went to the mall with mom and your adopted grandma misty. you slept the whole time (surprise!) we found you an easter dress to match your adopted cousin bella. and also some christmas pajamas to match your brother! woops, now you have to forget i told you about one of your christmas presents.

daddy got you some mylicon drops at walmart. we're hoping that does the trick with the anger issues! maybe you just have gas.

you're keeping busy

today you went to church for the first time and were a big hit. you wore a dress that a lady there bought for you before you were even born! it was your first time to get real dressed up. joe liked your socks especially.













and yesterday you went to your first wedding. carl and kristina burgers, friends of you and sam and mom and dad. daddy was the best man! you may never see him in a tuxedo again, or not for a very long time, so here's a picture. rhonda fed you lunch while mom took pictures, and then you slept on a whole bunch of different people during the reception.

you're two weeks old!

you have had a busy week!

last night you went to your first Christmas party. you mostly just slept, but everyone enjoyed holding you and looking at you. you met ivy for the first time, and i bet the two of you will be good friends!

today we took a walk outside for the first time. i think maybe you were a little overwhelmed, but we'll try it again tomorrow. soon you'll love the sunshine and the wind on your face, just like your big brother.

at your doctor's visit yesterday, you weighed 9lbs. 2oz. that's right on track. the doctor said you look very healthy.

your dad and i laugh when you make this face, which is kind of a lot. your mouth makes a perfect little tiny 'O' shape.

also, the doctor said your jaundice is almost gone! that means no more heel-pricking.

a lot has happened in a week!


here's a picture of what you look like at one week old. you smiled for the camera!

you went on your first outing, to see the doctor. you have jaundice and had to get your heel pricked and blood taken from your foot. you hated that and let the whole clinic know. you peed on the exam table. other than the jaundice, the doctor says you're very healthy and looking great! you weigh 8lbs. 12oz. now, almost back to your birth weight. everywhere we went today, people said how pretty you are.

you were born!

after months of waiting, you arrived! here's a picture of you your first day on the outside.

your official birthday and time are 11/27/2006, 7:55am.

you're 8lbs. 13oz., which is bigger than we expected. you're 20.5 inches tall and have lots of dark hair.

the day you were born, it was really warm, for late november. The day you came home, it got really cold, and it snowed that night.

lots of people were there to welcome you. your mom and dad, your brother, sam, all your grandparents, and nany (one of your great-grandmas). lots of friends came to visit you in the hospital as well.

you're a lot different from your big brother as a newborn. bigger...hairier...a girl...

but you're similar as well. you're sweet and mild. you like to sleep the same way, with your arms up over your head. you were born in a different hospital, but the same kind (mercy - sam was st. edward, in fort smith... you're st. mary, in rogers.) and you're exceptionally healthy, intelligent, and cute. you had the same due date (december 5), and your birthdays are only one day apart.
