Happy Three Months Birthday!

wow. it seems like just the other day that we were wishing you a happy two months birthday.

you are a strong girl, and you like a routine. you stand up on your legs really really well, and we're wondering if you're going to walk before you get teeth! let's hope not.

this was a big month, with lots of developing and lots of meeting new people. we can't wait to see what's next!

your parents and his parents (jeremy and kathleen) have joked since before both of you were born that we were going to arrange your marriage. i hope that's okay with you. statistically, arranged marriages have a better success rate (or so I hear). interesting to think about!

here's a picture of the two of you meeting. you finally were both awake long enough to pose for a picture or two. that boy's a hand holder; we'll have to keep an eye on him!

you are thirteen weeks old!

you are getting bigger and more exciting by the day.

your grandma and papa said you laughed for them the other day, but i didn't get to hear it!! i'll be expecting some more of those very soon.

you are more interested in toys and in the play mat, and you're starting to chew on stuff more. we're wondering if maybe some teeth are coming soon.

you have set us up on a pretty regular routine, which is really saying something, considering your parents are possibly the least scheduled people who ever lived. a little structure never hurt anyone, though, and we think it's pretty funny that we're learning it from someone less than 1/100th of our ages.

this week will probably be the week for cereal. we'll definitely post some pictures of that.

You met your Aunt Michelle!

it was her birthday on friday, and she came to arkansas to celebrate! she was very excited to meet you and to see how big sam is getting.

here's a picture with her in an outfit she bought you. and speaking of stuff she bought you, you finally are big enough to try out the bumbo! you love it.

you are twelve weeks old!

today you are twelve weeks old! this past week when we went places, strangers offered to take you home with them, trade merchandise in their store for you, or "buy you by the pound." we didn't let them!

you are making a funny squealing sound that might be a prelude to a laugh, and you are full of smiles for pretty much everyone. you also decided that you want a pacifier now, after a couple months of absolutely hating one.

yesterday was the first day of the new year in China, and it is now the year of the boar. you were born in the year of the dog. sam and mommy were born in the year of the sheep, and daddy was born in the year of the ox. it will be interesting to see whether you grow up to be a secret agent or a businesswoman.

mom finally finished your hat.

i guess one upside to this winter dragging on forever is that you might get a chance to wear the hat i finally finished for you. well, i planned to put ribbons on the sides, but i think it looks better plain. too bad i didn't figure that out 3 weeks ago!
wouldn't you know, it's supposed to be in the 50s and 60s all next week.

anyway, you look fabulous in it!
